The Blessing of the
Animals
Each year, on the Sunday
closest to the Feast of St. Francis, it's the custom of Trinity Church Lime Rock to hold a
Blessing of the Animals.
Below are a few pictures
from the 2001 blessing. Please click on the photos to see them full-sized. Or,
to see pictures of the 2003 blessing (we were also joined that day by the
Choir of
Trinity Church Wall Street who were here for their annual visit with us!).
You'll also see
pictures from our other annual Blessings of the Animals around the website.
Browse around and see! And don't miss our
main page about Blessings of the
Animals.

to see pictures of the
Blessing of the Animals on October 6, 2006. In 2007, the Blessing of
the Animals will be held on October 7, during the 10:30 AM Holy Eucharist.
Animals of reasonable size are invited to attend the liturgy and will be blessed
at the appropriate time. Large animals will receive a blessing in Trinity
Field.
ALL ARE WELCOME!!

our animals DO love us
too! |

some have misgivings.... |

others arrive in
containers and have little choice... |

...and it's hard to find
a few! |

Some of the blessings are

We marvel every year that
dogs and cats and birds and other animals seem to coexist for this hour.

|
That's right: the animals attend the service with us. We think
that St. Francis would have approved. |

This
Trinity Kid
brought a pet of a different kind -- one that requires much less care than
the living kind, but one that receives no less love.
