Girl Scout Sunday at Trinity Lime Rock

Trinity was honored to have the opportunity to host our local Girl Scouts for Girl Scout Sunday, 2003. Each year our local Girl Scouts try to visit a different local church, and this year it was our turn. We were really pleased to see so many of our local girls and their leaders in attendance.

Several Trinity girls are Girl Scouts (or Brownies) and we were delighted to have them take major roles in the worship that day. And many of our guests also played active parts in the service. For example, Girl Scouts and Brownies served as greeters/ushers, oblation bearers, Lector, Epistler, Intercessor, and acolyte, and they joined the procession into the church as a unit! The Rector recognized all Girl Scouts and leaders in attendance and offered a blessing.

And, of course, after the service they joined with the rest of the congregation and our Sunday School for a festive coffee hour -- with ice cream sundaes and lots of other good things that the Girl Scouts brought for us!!

There are lots of photos to see -- but before we see them, we should also remember the Girl Scout Promise and the Girl Scout Law. These are great principles for anybody!

The Girl Scout Promise:

On my honor, I will try to serve God and my country, to help people at all times, and to live by the Girl Scout Law.

The Girl Scout Law:

I will do my best to be honest and fair, friendly and helpful, considerate and caring, courageous and strong, and responsible for what I say and do, and to respect myself and others, respect authority, use resources wisely, make the world a better place, and be a sister to every Girl Scout.
