Christmas Pageant 2004at Trinity Church, Lime RockOur 62nd Christmas Pageant!!Trinity's very first Christmas Pageant was held during World War II, under the leadership of then-Priest-in-Charge, Fr. John Mulligan, Chaplain of the Salisbury School and Priest in Charge at Trinity. At the time Fr. Mulligan staged the first Christmas Pageant here at Trinity, Trinity had been without a full-time Rector for a quarter century, owing to the demise of the Barnum Richardson Company and the local iron industry to which Trinity owed its beginnings and, for many years, its financial underpinnings. Through the years, our Pageant has taken several shapes. For a time, medieval "mystery plays" were enacted. On occasion, the Pageant has been presented in the afternoon of the Sunday of Advent 4. For the past few years, our Pageant has been performed as part of the family Holy Eucharist on Christmas Eve. Parenthetically, that does give us an opportunity for "one last rehearsal" just before the Pageant itself -- and we are thankful for that chance! Here are some pictures from that last run-through: Finally, everyone was ready. Unfortunately we didn't succeed in getting everyone together for a formal cast picture this year (things can get a little hectic in those final moments, especially as the congregation begins to arrive and excitement builds), but everyone did end up in exactly the place they were supposed to be for the Pageant to begin.
