The Choir of Trinity Church Wall Street's 6th Annual VisitWe were delighted to welcome back to Trinity for the sixth straight year the incredible Choir of Trinity Church Wall Street. Every year they bring us their wonderful music, and increasingly we are getting to know all of them as individuals. They are nothing short of an inspiration to all of us. Preceding the 10:30 AM Holy Eucharist, Trinity Wall Street organist Robert Ridgell treated us to Carillon from Pieces en style libre, by Louis Vierne, and to Carillon-Sortie in D major, by Henri Mulet. The Trinity Wall Street Choir joined the Trinity Lime Rock Choir in chanting the Psalm for the day, Psalm 66, Jubilate Deo, in a setting by Christine Gevert, Trinity Lime Rock Music Director. Cantors for the day were drawn from the Trinity Wall Street Choir for the Gospel Acclamation (again in a setting by Miss Gevert), and the Fraction Anthem. The Choir of Trinity Wall Street, under Dr. Burdick, provided us with Henry Purcell's setting of Psalm 63, ver. 1-5, 8 at the Offertory. Following Holy Communion, the Trinity Wall Street Choir presented Francisco Guerro's motet Antiphon to the Magnificat, Second Vespers, Corpus Christi. To say that the music was magnificent is to understate the case. It was truly inspiring. And, to top everything off, we had a surprise performance by the "Wall Street Wailers" at Coffee Hour, presenting a barbershop version (with just a touch of doo-wop thrown in) of Sentimental Journey!
