Choral Evensong for Shrove Tuesday, 2007

It's become a tradition at Trinity that our Shrove Tuesday celebration includes not just the traditional pancake supper, but also a choral Evensong. 

The whole evening is made more important by its ecumenical nature, as choristers from many other area churches join with us for the Evensong (as well as for the pancake supper, of course).

In 2007, we were delighted to welcome our new Vicar, Fr. Clements, to sing his first Evensong with us, and delighted as well to welcome choristers from St. John's Church, Salisbury, the Salisbury Congregational Church, the Falls Village Congregational Church, and the Crescendo! chorus, all under the direction of our own Christine Gevert.

The Evensong for this evening was composed by a contemporary  British trombonist named John MacDonald, and included the premieres of a psalm setting and a setting for the Creed composed for the occasion by our own Organist and Choirmaster, Christine Gevert.
