The Columbus Day Weekend Art Show will be open October 7, 8, 9; October 14, 15; noon until 4 PM
Opening Reception and Awarding of Prizes, SATURDAY, October 7, 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.
Clayton Buchanan: studied Impressionist painting with Henry Hensche, Provincetown, MA and
Figure/Portrait painting with William Draper, Art Students League, NY. Capturing the figure in real life is his motivation which he paints in pastels. He is an award winning artist with pieces in many private and corporate collections. http://www.claytonbuchananart.com/
Tim Good is the owner of the Good Gallery in Kent, CT which offers Art Services such as gallery shows, framing and art conservation. He has been involved in the arts since leaving England 22 years ago. Prior to owning galleries he was involved with Art Licensing. Currently he is the President of the Kent Chamber of Commerce and previously was on the Board of the Kent Historical Society looking after the George Lawrence Nelson collection. https://www.thegoodgallerykent.com/
1st Place $100 2nd Place $75 3rd Place $50 and up to 5 Honorable Mentions. People’s Choice Award – Guests who attend the opening will vote for this. Votes will be counted at the opening and the winner with the most votes will be announced at the Award Ceremony.
Artists bring work to the Trinity Gallery on Sunday, October 1, 2017 noon to 2 p.m.
♦ Works in the following media may be entered – oil, watercolor, acrylic, pastel, graphite, printmaking, gouache, ink, scratchboard, collage, mixed media and sculpture (artists must provide their own stands.). No prints of original works, photography or computer generated art will be accepted and neither will any other works previously shown at Trinity Gallery Shows be accepted. No requests for art to be hung in a specific order and/or way will be accepted.
♦ The entry fee is $30 and is non-refundable. Checks should be made payable to Trinity Church indicating Juried Art Show on memo line.
♦ Submitted artwork can be three pieces up to 30 inches in any dimension, including mat and frame or two pieces up to 44 inches, including mat and frame..
♦ Art must be appropriate to be viewed by all audiences including families.
♦ All accepted work will be hung. Please do not ask that accepted works be hung in a specific order. Unaccepted work will not be hung and will be stored at the Gallery until the official pick up date.
♦ Artists will be notified by email by October 4 of acceptance and/or of non-acceptance.
♦ Following acceptance, artists are encouraged to send by email, digital photos of their accepted work to be shown on the Trinity Gallery Facebook page.
♦ All work is to be securely wired and ready to hang with no saw-tooth or loop hangers permitted.
♦ Art such as watercolor, printmaking, pastel and graphite must be protected by glass.
♦ All submitted pieces are to be available for sale, and the buyer will be asked to leave them hanging for the duration of the show.
♦ Trinity Church will receive a 30% commission for each sold piece. A check to the artist, less 30%, will be mailed in a reasonable time after the show and after the work has been paid for in full. Artists must have on file with Trinity Church (locked securely in a locked file in a locked office), a W-9 form to receive payment. W-9 forms will be available at the Drop Off.
♦ Liability –The Trinity Gallery does not provide insurance for damage or loss of artwork. Every reasonable precaution will be taken in the handling and exhibition. Submitting an Entry Form and signing the Fine Art Liability Waiver means acceptance of the conditions of this prospectus. It is recommended that artists carry their own insurance.
Artists may submit a one page (8.5”x11”) resume for inclusion in a binder at the exhibition.
All Non-Juried Bin Works will be accepted—up to six unframed works no larger than 30 inches in any dimension, neatly shrink wrapped (or equal) may be entered by each artist. Bin works will not be judged by the jurors and will remain in the bins for sale during the show. Prints of original art works are also acceptable but stretched canvasses will not be accepted for the bins. Each piece must be labeled on the back with the artist’s name and price also with a filled-in bin form handed in at registration. Artists may enter up to six bin pieces without having any wall hanging works to be judged. However the $30 entry fee will still be required.
Entry Forms—Print and completely fill out one entry form for each piece. DO NOT ATTACH TO BACK OF PIECE. Submit form(s) separately with art work at the registration. Also sign the Waiver on the bottom of the Entry Forms and submit with art work at the registration. Additional prospectus’ and entry forms will also be available at the Drop Off.
