Hepzivalla -- ad for sale

Clark W. Nicholls furnished this evidence, dated 1920, of the decline of Lime Rock village after the closing of the Barnum Richardson Company.  (C. R. Barnum was a grandson of William H. Barnum.  The house, since destroyed by fire, was located on the site of the present-day Paradise Garage.)

Clergy of Litchfield County: Title page

In 1909, the University Club of Litchfield County compiled a book of the clergy and history of the various churches in the County.

Clergy of Litchfield County: about Trinity Lime Rock

Compared with most other churches covered, Trinity's history was brief in the extreme.   No doubt the decline was already apparent to the author.

Trinity's choir in 1904

Trinity had, in the early 1900s, a choir of men and boys.  Here is a photo of the choir as it appeared circa 1906.

Members of the choir in 1904

This list, pasted to the back of the framed photo of the choir circa 1906 (dated 1904 erroneously), identifies many of the choristers, as well as the choir director.  This is also the only photograph the parish has of Fr. Griffith, one of our early Rectors.
