About Art at Trinity Lime Rock
Art at Trinity Lime Rock builds on the Litchfield Hills having been a favored destination of the Hudson River School of landscape painters. Early in the 20th Century, artists began to be active in Trinity itself. When the tradition of Lime Rock Artists’ Association Art Shows in the 1920’s and 1930’s began, Trinity people were among the exhibitors and among the visitors. Trinity began hosting art shows decades ago.
Today we host a number of shows in the Gallery at Trinity Lime Rock throughout the year.
These include the annual Invitational Art Show which has been a fixture at Trinity for decades, a variety of juried art and photographic shows (some of which have been cooperative shows with outside organizations, such as the Salisbury Winter Sports Association), shows featuring the work of a single artist or a small group of artists, other invitational shows, and occasional shows of art by our very own Young People and their friends. We at Trinity enjoy cordial relations with other local galleries and with art programs in area public and private schools.
The very best place to find out what’s going on in Art at Trinity Lime Rock right now, and to get a sense for what is upcoming, is to check our Facebook page for the Trinity Gallery. You’ll also find photo albums there of past shows at Trinity.
You may also be interested to know that you do NOT need to be a Trinity parishioner to enter our shows or even to participate in running them. We are delighted to welcome members of our larger community to our art show committee. Non-Trinity people serve on our art committee as both volunteers for and managers of our various shows throughout the year.
Note to artists:
The Gallery at Trinity Lime Rock uses the Walker Gallery Hanging System for all works that are displayed on walls. Artists desiring information about this hanging system, including pictures of wall displays for ideas and reference, can be found on the vendor’s website: walkerdisplay.com.
