It's become a parish tradition that the last Sunday preceding Lent we call our coffee hour "Chocolate Sunday" and here's how it works:First of all, our parishioners (and we are, to be modest about it, pretty good cooks) all prepare chocolate cakes, cookies, candies, and even pretzels for coffee hour. When we get all the stuff together that Sunday morning, it looks like this:
Or, seen from the other end of the table, like this: As you can see, the parishioners (and guests) are eager to start! However, since this particular coffee hour is a fundraiser for our ECW, it starts off here: One of our genial ECW members is selling plates for $5 per, which you can fill up with all the chocolate treats it will hold -- and, as you can see, our parishioners are pretty skillful at demonstrating just how large the capacity of a paper plate is! Is Chocolate Sunday popular? Well, sometimes a smile is worth 1000 words!! Come back next year the last Sunday of Epiphany and enjoy Chocolate Sunday with us all at Trinity Lime Rock! |
