| Trinity Lime Rock is honored to
continue the tradition of the Lime Rock Artists Association shows of
the 1920s and 1930s. This organization -- as well as bringing art
to the Northwest Corner -- signaled the transition of our area from one
of heavy industry to what it is today. For many years we have hosted the Trinity Invitational Art Show, and now we are offering a new exhibition in the same space. Check back here for information about our most recent -- or upcoming -- art show in The Gallery at Trinity Lime Rock.... |

COMING NEXT -- an innovative show by local artist Jo Ann O'Rear and sculptor Anne Huibregtse entitled "40 Cows for Peace".

"Gratitude Cultivator" by Karl Saliter, now at TrinityThanks to the generosity of several parishioners, Trinity was able to add Karl Saliter's "Gratitude Cultivator" to our permanent collection in 2006. The work had been shown at the Invitational Art Show that year and attracted the favorable attention of many visitors to the show. It now graces the entry to Walker Hall, setting off our 2004 addition to the structure. To see a larger view of Gratitude Cultivator, click on the image below. |

Item of historical interest:The Lime Rock Art Association thrived right here in our own valley, staging nine acclaimed annual exhibits from 1927 through 1935, just a few doors down from Trinity Church in what was once the company store of the Barnum & Richardson iron empire. Their work preserves our landscape in its post-industrial, agricultural era. Lime Rock was also the site of Dard Hunter's paper mill, where much sought after artists' papers were produced before the Depression, as well as a variety of other arts and crafts organizations. Ever since the 1920's, Trinity Lime Rock has been involved in nurturing art in the Northwest Corner of Connecticut. CLICK HERE to view our History pages. |
