our ECW
(an
association of Women in the Episcopal
Church)
Historically, Trinity's Episcopal Church Women have been a mainstay of the
congregation ever since Mrs. Barnum and Mrs. Richardson undertook to raise the
funds for Trinity's first pipe organ. At that point, the group was known
as the Ladies Auxiliary.
Since then, the ECW has provided both financial and emotional support through
good times and bad, especially during the years when the demise of the historic
iron industry, then headquartered in Lime Rock, left the parish and the Lime
Rock community nearly destitute.
Today, the ECW holds monthly luncheons for their membership, continues to
provide the staples for weekly hospitality hour, and organizes and conducts some
annual events within the parish that enjoy reputations that extend far beyond
Lime Rock, and even the Northwest Corner. Furthermore, they continue to
innovate! Most recently, they staged their
annual Holiday Bazaar. Before
that, they hosted "Chocolate Sunday" --
a huge success!
Further down this page, you'll find information about some recent ECW events
(and don't miss their YouTube video -- perhaps the only YouTube video of an
ECW anywhere in the Episcopal Church!).
Trinity's ECW traditionally sponsors their annual tag sale and
bake sale on the Saturday of Memorial Day weekend.
Doors usually open at 10 AM sharp (no early birds, please!) The sale
usually ends at 2 PM.
Co-chairs of the tag sale, Trudy Washburn and Ginny
Dildine, have requested donation of the following types of merchandise:
books (books are frequently the most popular part of our tag sales -- and we
frequently keep the book sale running for months after the tag sale is over),
bric-a-brac, small household furnishings, antiques, toys, linens, easily portable furniture items,
glassware, keepsakes, equestrian goods, other sports equipment. Please:
NO clothes! (they just don't sell very well, sorry --
sports gear is the exception; we
can always sell it!)
The customary caution, as well -- if you wouldn't
have it in your own home, don't contribute it, because the people who patronize
our tag sale have learned over the years that they can expect quality at
Trinity.
Bake sale chair Alice Tweed has requested that all
of the bakers of the parish produce their usual wonderful offerings. In
addition, since we usually have members of a bicycle tour visit us on the day of the sale,
sandwiches are also needed. Check with Alice before you cook -- make sure
that your contribution doesn't duplicate the offerings of others.

ENJOY!!
There is traditionally a parish cookout that evening, at
approximately 6 PM. All parishioners and their families and guests are
invited, but please RSVP to Al Dorf so we know how much meat to buy!
By the way, the book sale at the Tag Sale was so
successful that the ECW has decided to keep it running on an ongoing basis.
Check the books available in the Guild Room at any time!

Did you know
that Trinity's ECW donated $300 to our Outreach partner, the Chapel of the Holy
Spirit, in New Orleans, to help them recover from Hurricane Katrina prior to the
return of the students at Tulane University, for which they are the Episcopal
Chapel?
How about some pictures from our
2002 tag
sale? Just !!

now-traditional Salisbury Antiques Fair. Click on the items below to see a

Trinity's ECW
held a Quilt Show and Tea. It's wonderful to own a handmade quilt, but
just in case you don't we thought we would bring you absolute close-up detail of
three of the Many antique quilts that were shown. We hope you enjoy them!
