FLOWERS!

...the work of the Flower Committee at Trinity Lime Rock

Blessing the Altar Guild and Flower Committee, 2007

At Trinity, the Flower Committee is a very active subcommittee of the Altar Guild.  Made up of several members, it rotates responsibility for preparation of the altar flowers -- as well as flowers for the oblation table in the back of the church, for a small table outside the sacristy, and for flowers on the children's altar -- among its members.

On the fourth Sunday of Advent each year, it enlists the aid of the larger parish family in what have become major events in the life of the parish: "The Greening of the Church" -- and, after Christmas, the "De-greening of the Church"

Hayley and Grace with Malcolm

No reason why the kids can't help...

Hayley, ready for drilling!

No reason at all!

Grace is really confident with that drill!

Nope, no reason at all!

Grace, ready for drilling!

Let me at 'em!

Grace, suddenly a little bit apprehensive...

Well, it might be a little bit difficult...

Hayley is definitely ready for drilling!

Nonsense!  I'm ready!

Malcolm helping Hayley with the drill

A few years, we said that Hayley was "helping" Malcolm.  This year we can honestly say that Malcolm is helping Hayley!

The adults were left the task of adding the garlands

Grace decides to help with this job too

"Oh well, I guess I can help with this too..."

Meanwhile, in Walker Hall, another crew was decorating the Christmas tree

The nave, "greened"

but the crew in the Nave was about done!

Grace -- thanks for a job well done!

Guess who else got a decoration!
