About our location
| We're in Connecticut's Northwest Corner
(Massachusetts and New York State are close neighbors) --
in the Town of Salisbury, CT (just over the town line from Falls Village), in Litchfield County. Trinity Lime Rock is located at 484 Lime Rock Road,
opposite the outfield entrance of Lime Rock Park,
in the Lime Rock neighborhood of Lakeville, Connecticut. And, for the next
two years, we're located right on the Appalachian Trail! |

The hamlet of Lime Rock,
Connecticut is
served by the Post Offices of both Lakeville and
Falls Village, CT. We're
located in the Township of
Salisbury, CT. (Yes, we
know. With all these different names for the same place it can get confusing. But
we do things that way here in rural
NW CT.)
We're on Route 112 (which is also known as Lime Rock Road), at the corner of Dugway Road
(which is currently a detour on the Appalachian Trail!).
Virtually everyone has heard of our
across-the-street friend, Lime Rock Park,
the most beautiful auto race track in North America. We
extend a special welcome to our Lime Rock
Park friends.
The hamlet of Lime Rock, important
as it is today in auto racing, was also
historically important as the hub of a now-vanished iron industry that began in Colonial times and ended around 1920. In fact, our parish owes its
existence to that iron industry,
and specifically to two
families that were prominent in it, the Barnums and the Richardsons.
If you are on the "Heritage Trail"
prepared by the Tri-Corner History Council (RECOMMENDED!!), you will pass
Trinity -- "The Church that Iron Built" -- in Lime Rock, stop #6
on the tour. Trinity Church is the oldest structure built
by the iron industry that is still under the original ownership and still in use for its original purpose!
Following the passing of the iron
industry, Lime Rock also gained importance as
an artists colony. Did you know that three of the more noted members of the
old Lime Rock Artists Association were Vestry members at Trinity? |

Trinity's latitude: 41.9320393
Trinity's longitude: -73.379230 |
|
The Barnum
and Richardson families built Trinity Lime Rock with the stated intention that
everyone
should be welcomed here. We continue that tradition
today. |
|
With that much as background, if you're already
in or familiar with Connecticut's Northwest Corner, you most likely could drive to our door without another
word of instruction!

Driving directions
to Trinity:
|
|
--From US Route 7 in Connecticut or
Massachusetts, turn onto Route 112 (The
intersection is
just south of Falls Village, CT and the traffic light at the Housatonic Valley Regional High
School, and just a
few miles north of West Cornwall
and their famous covered bridge over the Housatonic River). If you're headed
north on Route 7, you'll turn left into Route 112, and if you're heading south, you'll make a
right turn -- right after the bridge construction where Route 7 crosses the
Housatonic River. As soon as you turn into Route 112, you'll pass the
Inn at White
Hollow Farm on your right, and you'll see us on your right at the corner of
Dugway Road a mile or so later.
Lime Rock Park will be on your left. We're hard to miss!
(Turn into Dugway Road and then immediately turn left into our parking lots.)
ALTERNATE ROUTING
for Route 7 South: The bridge on Route 7 at Housatonic Valley
Regional High School in Falls Village is subject to
construction-related closings. If you are coming to Trinity via Route 7
southbound and the bridge is closed, the most direct route is as follows:
--At the blinker at the intersection of
Route 7 and Route 126, turn onto Route 126 westbound.
--Follow Route 126 approximately 1/2
mile to a T intersection. Turn left at this
intersection (Route 126 turns right here -- don't follow it).
--Go approximately 150 feet, then bear
right downhill under a railroad overpass and onto Water Street.
Continue to bear right on Water Street past the hydroelectric
plant and then left onto a single-lane bridge across the
Housatonic.
--Immediately after the bridge, turn
left onto Dugway Road. Proceed along Dugway Road
approximately 4 miles to its end at Trinity.
|
--From US Route 22 or US Route 44 in Millerton, NY, drive
east on Route 44 into Connecticut, toward Lakeville and Salisbury. A mile or two into
Connecticut, before you actually reach the village of Lakeville, turn right onto Route
112. It's the first right turn in the state! You'll pass the
Town Hill Campus of
Indian Mountain School on your right, then the Interlaken
Inn and Conference Center, then
the
Hotchkiss
School, and you'll cross Route 41 at a four-way stop with a blinker light. Drive through some lovely country,
with horse farms on both sides of the road, and down the long hill into historic Lime Rock
village, crossing the Salmon Kill. When Lime Rock Park
appears on your
right, (we're directly opposite the Outfield Entrance) and the
Lime Rock Cemetery is directly ahead of you, we're there on your
left. (Turn into Dugway Road -- between the Church and the Cemetery and
then immediately into one of our parking lots.)
--From Connecticut Route 41 in Salisbury or
Lakeville, drive south toward Sharon.
You'll pass the entrance to the
Wake Robin Inn, and
then you'll be on the Hotchkiss campus.
Turn left onto
Route 112 at the blinker at the
Hotchkiss School four corners (between Lakeville and Sharon).
Follow the directions from the Hotchkiss School above.
--From Connecticut Route 41 in Sharon,
drive north toward Lakeville and
Salisbury, and turn right onto
Route 112 at the blinking light at the Hotchkiss School four corners (between Lakeville and Sharon).
Follow the directions from the Hotchkiss School above.
