is now history! We performed it during the 10:30 AM Holy Eucharist on Sunday, December 23.
to see the progress we made all the way from the first rehearsal right up the
pageant itself. This was our 65th consecutive year of Christmas Pageants
at Trinity Church, and it may have been one of the best ever! And this
time there's
even a video!

(Summer Soccer is a close second.)While our actual Christmas pageants are attended by only around 200 spectators (that's all our building holds, and for Christmas Pageant it is usually full!), tens of thousands of people from all around the world have visited Trinity Lime Rock's young people's Christmas Pageants via the web. That the pageants from a small rural Episcopal parish like Trinity Lime Rock are appreciated around the world is a testimony to our great kids, our hard-working adult volunteers, and our super church staff. Some history of Christmas Pageants at Trinity:Trinity Lime Rock's first Christmas Pageant was back in December 1942, during the dark days of World War II. Fr. Mulligan, then the Chaplain at Salisbury School, was filling in as Priest in Charge at Trinity, and he felt that a Christmas Pageant might be a great addition for this struggling little parish. That was a long, long time ago, and sadly we have only one photo to show you of those early pageants, some of which were mystery plays and miracle plays instead of what we think of as Christmas Pageants today. Here, with thanks to the Lakeville Journal, is a picture of the 1951 Christmas Pageant at Trinity. (Click on the thumbnail to see a larger picture).
Since that very first Christmas Pageant at Trinity 65 years ago, 65 successful Christmas Pageants have passed. Every year we reflect on the debt of gratitude we owe Fr.
