Some history of Christmas Pageants at
Trinity:
Trinity Lime Rock's first Christmas Pageant
was back in December 1942, during the darkest days of World War II. Fr.
Mulligan, then the Chaplain at Salisbury School, was filling in as Priest in
Charge at Trinity, and he felt that a Christmas Pageant might be a great addition
for this
struggling little parish.
That was a long, long time ago, and sadly we
have only one photo to show you of those early pageants, some of which
were mystery plays and miracle plays instead of what we think of as Christmas
Pageants today. Here, with thanks to the
Lakeville Journal, is a
picture of the 1951 Christmas Pageant at Trinity. (Click on the thumbnail

Since that very first Christmas Pageant at
Trinity 66 years ago, 65 successful Christmas Pageants have passed. Every
year we reflect on the debt of gratitude we owe Fr. Mulligan for starting the
the ball rolling. You can see pictures from our nine most recent
pageants via the links at the top of this page.
