What did we do in Summer 2009?

During the summer of 2006, our second year, some kids from the neighborhood, and some kids who had only occasionally been seen at Trinity started showing up.  We also realized how many people in the parish were in a position to lend their talents to making the program successful. 

Our third year, 2007, was the high point.  We had a total of 96 participants from all over the area, most with no previous contact with Trinity.  And, thanks to the kind assistance of Lime Rock Park, the quality of our field got better and better.

2008, our fourth year of summer sports for kids at Trinity, remained dedicated to soccer, but we could see the interests of our kids beginning to shift to other sports, and we began to see what looked like a corresponding shift in community interests.  We resolved that in 2009 we would include other sports and you can see if you click the link below just how Summer Sports 2009 at Trinity Lime rock shaped up!

In 2010, we expanded our horizons even more!

Summer Sports at Trinity began in July in 2009 due to many other parish events in June and ended on August 23, traditionally followed on the last day by "Sundae Sunday" during hospitality hour.  Usually we begin in June, as we have done in 2010.

How summer sports at Trinity got started:

Back in 2005, one girl asked what she and the other kids would be doing once Sunday School ended for the school year.  She thought that soccer might be a good activity.  She may have been a little bit surprised that we took her suggestion.
