| We started it as our Summer Soccer program back in 2005 (you
can read the story of how the program started here)
-- at that time, it was
basically just something for the kids in our Sunday School to do during the
summer. During the summer of 2006, our second year, some kids from the
neighborhood, and some kids who had only occasionally been seen at Trinity
started showing up. We also realized how many people in the parish were in
a position to lend their talents to making the program successful.
Our third year, 2007, was the high point. We had a total of 96
participants from all over the area, most with no previous contact with
Trinity. And, thanks to the kind assistance of
Lime Rock Park, the
quality of our field got better and better.
2008, our fourth year of summer sports for kids at Trinity, remained
dedicated to soccer, but we could see the interests of our kids
beginning to shift to other sports, and we began to see what looked like
a corresponding shift in community interests. WIn 2009 we resolved
to include other sports, and have been doing that ever since.
