Worship at Trinity Lime Rock

WELCOME!

While we do many things at Trinity, usually the first activity in which people new to Trinity participate is formal Christian Worship.

It's what most people think of as "going to church."

At Trinity we have two principal worship services each Sunday.

At 8 AM, we celebrate Holy Eucharist, usually according to Rite I.  This tends to be the smaller of our two Sunday services, and (except for special Sundays such as Easter) there's no music at this service.

At 10:30 AM, we celebrate Holy Eucharist, usually according to Rite II again, but at this service we have organ and choral music.  Frequently the celebrant sings or chants much of the liturgy at this service.

If you're new to the Episcopal Church -- or to church in general -- some of the information on this page is apt to be just a little confusing.

We've got another page that explains some of the "church talk" and tells a little more about what you can expect at Trinity.

(That page will open in a new window so you can move back and forth easily)

Are you already a practicing Episcopalian?

See our "expert mode" page

Occasionally -- a few Sundays per year -- we may substitute Morning Prayer (usually according to Rite I) instead of or in addition to Holy Eucharist, but again our practice of no music at the 8 AM service and music at the 10:30 AM service generally holds true.  During the seasons of Advent and Lent we usually use Rite I for Holy Eucharist at both services.

On the principal Feast days and other days of obligation during the Church year we usually have additional services.  Some examples include Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, Shrove Tuesday, Ash Wednesday, Maundy Thursday, Good Friday, Holy Saturday, Ascension Day, and others.

Our special services are usually announced in the Lakeville Journal, generally announced on this website, and always in our recorded message on the parish phone.  Call 860-435-2627 at any time for a recording of the times of services.

If you would like to receive a weekly e-mail message listing all of the services (and other activities) at Trinity for the forthcoming week, please join our parish e-mail list -- you can sign up in the left margin of this page.
