The Trinity Times
Throughout the year, one Sunday each month is usually designated
as Young People's Sunday
On that Sunday, our Trinity young people take over
many -- most, really -- adult roles in the 10:30 AM Holy Eucharist.
--We at least occasionally have a full complement of acolytes: Crucifer, Lexifer, Torch Bearers
--We have youth ushers assisting the designated head usher,
as well as youth oblation bearers. Frequently this happens other Sundays as
--The Bible readings (except for the Gospel) are done by
our young people
--One (sometimes two) of our young people acts as Intercessor and leads the
congregation in the Prayers of the People
--Occasionally our young people will provide an Offertory
anthem or an individual musical performance.
--When there are other significant events planned for that
Sunday, often our young people will do them. The sermon is usually in the
form of a youth homily.
--We take a special thank offering on these Sundays to
help fund one of the Sunday School's outreach projects.
Not every Young People's Sunday lives up to this standard of
participation, but most do!

People's Sundays of the 2010-2013 school years (click any of them to see a larger
Most of our young people over the age of seven (and a few for whom
age seven is still in the distant future) participate in some
way when we have a young people's Sunday. They enjoy it, and so do
the adults in the congregation!
