Photos from December 1 and 2

Here are some photos from December 1 and 2 at Trinity Lime Rock.

That Saturday (December 1) we had our annual Christmas Bazaar, with refreshments, wreath sale, lots of neat things for holiday gifts, a chili dinner, and, of course, the community Christmas tree lighting, with carols and hot chocolate.

Photo credits for this album to Alexis and Eleanore.  Thanks so much to both of you for the great coverage of this annual event.

BUT THAT’S NOT ALL!!

Here are some more photos of the Bazaar and Tree Lighting, and also a few from Sunday, December 2, which was also the first Sunday in Advent.

Photo credits for this album to Heidi, Alexis, and, for the first time, Georgia!   Thanks to all three of you for your contributions!!

Trinity Times for July and August

The Trinity Times for July and August is now available.  You can pick up a paper copy at Trinity, or download it here (we recommend the download because it saves on paper and copying costs, and you can get it and read it right now, but whichever works for you works for us!)

People occasionally ask why we have a weekly e-mail newsletter, the Trinity Update, and the Trinity Times too.  (by the way, you can sign up to receive the Trinity Update each Wednesday if you wish by going  HERE— and you don’t need to be a Trinity parishioner to receive it) but the answer is that the format of the Trinity Update is too brief to be able to convey much information besides who/what/when and where — there’s very little room for  “how” or “why”.  The Trinity Times covers things in more depth and hopefully answers these important questions.

One topic you’re read about in this issue of the Trinity Times is our backpack project. This photo is from 2014, showing the ingathering of the backpacks

Instructed Eucharist

Instructed Eucharist at Trinity

November 19 was the Youth Sunday for November, and, in addition to the young people assuming most of the roles in the service, they took on a significant part of the instructed Eucharist we hold from time to time.   The instructed Eucharist is basically a series of planned interruptions of the service in which readers provide commentary about what has just happened and about what is going to happen next.  We don’t conduct them frequently because the narratives do disrupt the flow of the service, but when we do, most people find it to be a learning experience.

It’s not just for the young people that we hold these, by the way.  Most adults can still learn something about the way our principal worship service is conducted and why it is the way it is.  For that reason we’ve decided to provide the script for this year’s instructed Eucharist  so you can read over what you heard on Sunday.
