Art at Trinity

About Art at Trinity Lime Rock

The Litchfield Hills were a favored destination of the Hudson River School of landscape painters. Early in the 20th Century, artists began to be active in Trinity itself.  When the tradition of Lime Rock Artists’ Association Art Shows in the 1920’s and 1930’s began, Trinity people were among the organizers and exhibitors.  Trinity itself began hosting art shows decades ago.

Today we host a number of  shows in the Gallery at Trinity Lime Rock throughout the year — although COVID disrupted things for nearly two years, Art Shows in the Trinity Gallery are now back!

Trinity Gallery

In a typical year, we host the annual Invitational Art Show — a fixture at Trinity for decades — and, a variety of juried art and photographic shows (some of which have been cooperative shows with outside organizations, such as the Salisbury Winter Sports Association).  Some feature the work of a single artist or a small group of artists.  Others, juried shows, are open to exhibitors from anywhere.  We’ve also hosted shows of art by our own Young People and their friends.  We at Trinity enjoy cordial relations with other local galleries and with art programs in area public and private schools.

The very best place to find out what’s going on in Art at Trinity Lime Rock right now, and to get a sense for what is upcoming, is to check our  Facebook page for the Trinity Gallery.  You’ll also find photo albums there of past shows at Trinity.

You do NOT need to be a Trinity parishioner to enter our shows or even to participate in running them.  We are delighted to welcome members of our larger community to our art show committee.   Non-Trinity people serve on our art committee as both volunteers for and managers of our various shows throughout the year.
