Trinity is in the forefront among Episcopal congregations in the use of Social Media for both internal and external communications. We were one of very first congregations that participated in the first Social Media Sunday, and we look forward to continuing to participate in them this year and in future years.
Here are the social media sites where you will find an active Trinity presence, along with a bit about each of them and what you can expect to find there.
Our largest presence is on Facebook, where we have three separate Facebook pages and a Facebook group. The pages include our main page, our sports page, and the page for the Gallery at Trinity. We began using Facebook just as soon as it was open to not-for-profits and we continue to use it heavily for communication both with our own parishioners and with the outside world. We invite you to “Like” any of these pages, either as an individual or in behalf of your organization. You’ll find lots of photos of Trinity and Trinity people on our Facebook pages!
We were such an early adopter of YouTube that we were able to capture the distinctive channel name of “TrinityChurch” ahead of many far larger, far more famous Trinity Churches out there. Here’s where you’ll find videos of past Christmas pageants, of other parish activities (including liturgical dance), of musical events, of our young people, and of a variety of other events. Have a look at our YouTube presence!
Trinity has a Twitter feed (you can follow us directly if you wish, or can click “Check our Twitter feed” above to sample it and get a sense of what our presence there looks like. Our Twitter handle, not surprisingly, is @trinitylimerock. Find us here and be sure to follow us! HINT: our Twitter feed is the best place to find back issues of the Trinity Update weekly newsletter!!
Trinity has a significant Instagram presence (especially for a church). Our name here also is @trinitylimerock and we would be delighted if you would follow us. On Instagram, you can find us here! As you might expect, lots and lots of photos here as well.
Social Media – OTHERS
We keep an eye on what is happening in the world of social media and internet ministry in general. We’re watching several apps at present and considering how we can make use of them at Trinity. Got a suggestion? Should we be on Snapchat ? on Vine? on others? Let us know what you think!
ABOUT Internet access in our buildingS
Accessing the internet is easy at Trinity. We offer free wifi coverage (the wifi password is our parish phone number 860-435-2627 (omit the dashes)) throughout the entire building and in the area around it. Depending on what other wifi access you have — such as ATT or Xfinity — you may be able to access one or more of them as well via a local hotspot. Finally, thanks to Lime Rock Park, Trinity has great cellular coverage for ATT customers and others who use their network.
