Easter Pictures

We captured some wonderful Easter pictures this year at Trinity Lime Rock, but we want to start off with one of the Easter egg hunt on Sunday following the 10:30 AM Festival Eucharist.

Easter pictures

Young people at the Easter egg hunt following the 10:30 AM Festival Eucharist. Our thanks to Patrick Sullivan of the Lakeville Journal for this photo.

However, we’ve got more, beginning with Friday evening’s Good Friday observance, continuing with activities on Saturday during the day, and the Great Vigil of Easter in the evening, and, of course, Easter Sunday.  Those photos and photo albums are found on our Facebook page.

Here are direct links to each:

Click HERE to see a short video of the choir warming up for the Good Friday service.  You’ll also find a few photos of that particularly moving service in our Facebook newsfeed.  Click HERE to see photos of Saturday daytime activities at Trinity.  Click HERE to see more photos of the Easter vigil, and click HERE to see (and hear) a portion of the Exsultet from that service.  And click HERE to see some photos of the 10:30 AM Easter service.

If you dig a little deeper in our Facebook page you’ll see lots more than Easter pictures, because we are a year-round church, one with a choir every Sunday and activities for young people every Sunday, year round.

Here’s one more photo of the Easter egg hunt from Patrick Sullivan and the Lakeville Journal:

Chant workshop and Evensong

Chant Workshop and All Saints Evensong

Here’s more information about the Chant Workshop:

The Chant Workshop will be led by Trinity’s Music Director, Christine Gevert. She will teach singers the theory and practice of chant in both Latin and English. Besides providing instruction about in the technical aspects of this ancient practice, this workshop is also a vehicle to experience the spiritual aspect of chanting.

The Workshop will conclude with a public All Saints Evensong at 7 PM. It will include the chants learned in the workshop and some hymns. Trinity Choir singers and some guests will also sing Spanish and English Renaissance Polyphony. Singers that want to participate in this polyphonic repertoire, need to contact Ms. Gevert and will be invited to a prior rehearsal. Scores will be provided ahead of this rehearsal.

To register for the workshop, please send an email to: lesinegales@yahoo.com The workshop is free of cost.
Participants are asked to bring some food to share for a light potluck dinner.

Music Director in Bolivia

==On the World Stage==

Trinity’s Music Director (and founding Artistic Director of Crescendo), Christine Gevert, will be in Bolivia for the next few days, performing at the XI Early Music Festival , the largest festival of Early Music in the world (more than 1000 musicians from all over the world, playing 146 concerts over ten days).  Christine is slated to perform six of those concerts.

One of hers will be on the sole  historic organ that survived from the days of the Jesuits in colonial times, and we’re hoping she brings back recordings.   Here’s the schedule for the Festival:

Yes, we currently have our music director in Bolivia — but don’t worry, we’ll still have music at Trinity on Sunday:  Doug Schmolze will be back!
