Rota for first quarter 2018

Here’s the rota for first quarter 2018

What’s a rota?   It’s the schedule of who, among our many wonderful volunteers, performs what roles in our Sunday services.

Our Verger prepares this (with a whole lot of input from the volunteers themselves) a week or two before each quarter ends and gets it “out there” so that people can plan their schedules as far in advance as possible.

Without further ado, here’s the rota for first quarter 2018!

You can also see a copy posted at Trinity, or pick up a printed copy there as well.

Thanks to all of our volunteers for all that they do for Trinity!

Instructed Eucharist

Instructed Eucharist at Trinity

November 19 was the Youth Sunday for November, and, in addition to the young people assuming most of the roles in the service, they took on a significant part of the instructed Eucharist we hold from time to time.   The instructed Eucharist is basically a series of planned interruptions of the service in which readers provide commentary about what has just happened and about what is going to happen next.  We don’t conduct them frequently because the narratives do disrupt the flow of the service, but when we do, most people find it to be a learning experience.

It’s not just for the young people that we hold these, by the way.  Most adults can still learn something about the way our principal worship service is conducted and why it is the way it is.  For that reason we’ve decided to provide the script for this year’s instructed Eucharist  so you can read over what you heard on Sunday.

Bulletin for Trinity Sunday 2017

Here’s the bulletin for Trinity Sunday 2017!

Trinity Sunday is the day we celebrate our birthday, so it’s an even bigger day at our house than it would otherwise be.

There will be special music, and our annual Trinity Sunday picnic follows the service.  All are welcome, there will be hot dogs and hamburgers to grill, and if you could bring a dish to share (side dishes, salads, desserts) it would be great.

Without further ado, here it is:

Chant Workshop and All Saints Evensong

Here’s more information about the Chant Workshop:

The Chant Workshop will be led by Trinity’s Music Director, Christine Gevert. She will teach singers the theory and practice of chant in both Latin and English. Besides providing instruction about in the technical aspects of this ancient practice, this workshop is also a vehicle to experience the spiritual aspect of chanting.

The Workshop will conclude with a public All Saints Evensong at 7 PM. It will include the chants learned in the workshop and some hymns. Trinity Choir singers and some guests will also sing Spanish and English Renaissance Polyphony. Singers that want to participate in this polyphonic repertoire, need to contact Ms. Gevert and will be invited to a prior rehearsal. Scores will be provided ahead of this rehearsal.

To register for the workshop, please send an email to: lesinegales@yahoo.com The workshop is free of cost.
Participants are asked to bring some food to share for a light potluck dinner.
